Persuasion is an invaluable asset in your toolkit, as recent LinkedIn data confirm.

Isabelle Roughol recently wrote that, based on data from LinkedIn, persuasion is the second-most sought after soft skill.

She writes:

Persuasion is in very high demand in many sectors, particularly the Internet, IT and software industries, finance, human resources, staffing and recruiting, or the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, according to LinkedIn Talent Insights. Those who claim the skill are salespeople of course, business owners and founders, CEOs, who all deal with customers, but also people managers, project managers and consultants.”

Soft Skills Matter Immensely to Recruiters

Roughol goes on to note that, in making hiring decisions, 92% of recruiters surveyed said a candidate’s soft skills (like persuasion) were equally or more important than their hard skills.

And given that artificial intelligence will have a tough time replacing soft skills, learning the levers of persuasion may turn out to be your best investment yet.
